Dr Biteko calls on Puma Energy to establish more CNG stations in Tanzania

DODOMA: THE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has called on Puma Energy to scale up its investment in energy infrastructure by establishing more compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations for vehicles across the country.
Speaking after meeting with Puma Energy’s Global Chief Executive Officer, Mark Russell, in Dodoma, Dr. Biteko emphasized the importance of expanding access to services for citizens.
He also emphasized the importance of increasing access to alternative fuels and clean energy solutions across the country.
Dr Biteko encouraged the company to invest more in clean cooking energy initiatives, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Puma Energy in support of the national energy agenda.

Furthermore, Dr Biteko commended Puma for delivering high-quality services and products, and further applauded the company for promoting local talent by appointing Tanzanians to senior executive roles within its operations in the country.

For his part, Puma Energy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mark Russell, revealed that the company has already invested over 24m US dollars towards the construction of three gas filling stations for vehicles.
He said the stations are set to be built in the Dar es Salaam and Dodoma regions.
Puma Energy remains a key player in Tanzania’s fuel retail sector, Liquefied Petroleum Gas offering a wide range of services and products, including retail fuel and commercial energy solutions.
