ZOP organises free medical checkup, fundraising to support needy children

ZANZIBAR: THE Zanzibar Outreach Programme (ZOP) has organised a one-day specialised medical camp, accompanied by a fun fair to motivate people to donate for treatments.

The event will be held today at Kariakoo grounds in Unguja Urban District where children will be screened for free on various diseases and health complications such as eyes, hearing and trauma, accompanied by the provision of education /awareness related to how to remain healthy.

“This is the second time we organise such a camp and will be accompanied with various sports and fun fair including short races.

We urge parents to turn-up in big number so that their children can benefit and donate to help other children who need treatment,” Mr Suleiman Mohamed- Secretary, organising committee said.

He said that the entrance fee is 2,000/- but special tickets will be sold ranging from 10,000/-; 20,000/-; 35,000/- to 50,000/- categorised as Silver, Bronze, Gold and Platinum respectively.

Mr Mohamed urged parents to bring their children for a free health checkup, but also donate some amount of money.

The ZOP camp is dubbed “Donate one, get two”, to ensure our community, mainly children, and any child diagnosed with any complications get treatment.

A Pediatrician Dr Mundhir Suleiman Nassor from ZOP encouraged parents in Zanzibar to take advantage of the health camp to ensure their children are screened and also donate to help other needy children.
