Yanga, Simba players punished for misconduct

DAR ES SALAAM:YOUNG Africans and Simba players have been slapped for misconducts during their Premier League match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on November 5th.

Young Africans hammered Simba 5-1 on the day that the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Committee on Operational and Management identified a number of misconducts that forced penalties on Henock Inonga and Kibu Denis of Simba as well as Yanga’s Djigui Diarra and assistant coach Moussa Ndao.

According to the committee’s statement each of the accused was slapped with a 500,000/- fine.

Other than the penalties for the players of both clubs, the players were also slapped with penalties for separate offences.

Yanga received a fine of 5m/- for entering the venue through an unauthorised entrance while Simba got fined 1m/- for players leaving their changing rooms late before the kick-off.

Further Yanga’s midfielder Khalid Aucho faces a three-match suspension with a 500,000/- fine for unsporting behaviour toward Coastal Union’s skipper, Ibrahim Ajibu.

Also, Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) have been fined 1m/- for arriving late at Uhuru Stadium for their match against Dodoma Jiji.

The committee further issued a slap referee Emmanuel Mwandembwa (Arusha) for failing to properly interpret the 17 football laws. He has been suspended from refereeing for six months.
