Yanga ease past KVZ in Mapinduzi Cup clash

ZANZIBAR: YOUNG Africans claimed a convincing 3–0 victory over KVZ in their Mapinduzi Cup Group C match at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar yesterday.
Pacôme Zouzoua (pictured) scored once, while KVZ defender Rahim Chikuni unfortunately contributed two own goals.
The win puts Young Africans top of Group C with three points, while TRA sit second on one point, level with KVZ following their 1–1 draw in the opening round.
The first goal came in the 31st minute.
Maxi Mpia Nzengeli drove down the left wing, cut inside the box and slid a precise pass to Zouzoua, who fired past KVZ goalkeeper Bashir Daruwesh.
Young Africans doubled their lead nine minutes into the second half.

Duke Abuya found wing-back Chadrack Boca, whose cross reached Celestine Ecua.
In attempting to block the shot, Chikuni deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper to make it 2–0.
KVZ responded in the 62nd minute when Robert Salula crossed to Michael Godlove, but the striker shot wide despite being one-on-one with Young Africans goalkeeper Abuutwalib Mshery.
The visitors sealed the win in the 75th minute. Zouzoua passed to Emmanuel Mwanengo, whose shot again deflected off Chikuni to beat Daruwesh and complete the 3–0 scoreline.
