Xerin Group launches Dar-Dubai air cargo charter

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIAN-OWNED logistics firm Xerin Group has launched a dedicated air cargo charter service between Dar es Salaam and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The company’s Managing Director, Hussein Jamal, said yesterday during the launch that the new service is expected to significantly transform cross-border logistics and trade using a Boeing 737-800 with a capacity of 20 tonnes per trip.

“This new route marks a major transformation in the regional logistics sector, providing efficient, secure and timely solutions for cargo movement between East and Central Africa and the Gulf region,” said Mr Jamal.

He said the launch is more than a business expansion and is expected to serve as a catalyst for stronger economic collaboration between Tanzania and the UAE where Dar will be its hub.

“By optimising trade corridors and reducing turnaround times, the service will not only boost commercial activity but also support broader regional economic integration,” he said.

“We are proud to be the first Tanzanian-owned company to offer this solution on such a level,” said Mr Jamal.

He said the success of the new cargo route has been made possible through collaboration and support from key regulatory institutions, including the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA), Tanzania Customs Authority (TCA) and other logistics stakeholders.

“Their proactive role in recognising the growing demand for dedicated cargo airlift services has been instrumental in realising this initiative,” said Jamal.

With trade volumes between Tanzania and the UAE steadily rising, he said the need for a dependable cargo transport solution has become increasingly urgent.

He said the new air cargo service aims to bridge that gap by offering traders a reliable and timely alternative for transporting a wide range of goods.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to offering forward-thinking, locally relevant logistics solutions and contributing to the growth of intra-regional and international trade.

“As the company celebrates this landmark achievement, it is inviting Tanzanian traders, businesspeople across East and Central Africa and partners in the UAE to take advantage of this game-changing service,” said Jamal.

Xerin Group has quickly carved out a notable presence in East African logistics since its 2019 inception. With comprehensive multimodal transport services, a growing regional network and strategic air cargo capacity linking Tanzania to the Middle East using third party operators.
