Why Tanzanians should seize TIMEXPO2024 opportunities

DAR ES SALAAM: The Confederation of Tanzanian Industries (CTI), in collaboration with sector executives, convened in Dar es Salaam to discuss how locals can participate in the upcoming Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo (TIMEXPO2024). The expo is expected to host over 500 participants showcasing their products and services while exploring new market opportunities.

Scheduled from February 26 to 29 at the Sabasaba grounds in Dar es Salaam, this marks the second edition since CTI and the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) entered into an agreement to organize the event.

CTI’s executive director, Leodegar Tenga, stated that this year’s event, themed “Building Bridges and Bringing Together Domestic and International Producers,” aims to foster collaboration between domestic and international producers. He urged participants to seize this opportunity to elevate domestic production to international standards.

Fortunatus Mhambe, representing Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE)’s director at the event, emphasized the importance of linking domestic and international industries and outlined the event’s role in facilitating knowledge exchange and technological advancements, crucial for positioning Tanzanian industries on the global stage.

Masoud Kipanya, the director of Kaypee Motors, stressed the importance of increasing domestic production capacity and called for Tanzania to transition from a consumerism economy to a manufacturing one.

As Tanzania prepares to host the Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo 2024, anticipation is high for a gathering that promises to catalyze innovation, collaboration, and growth in the country’s industrial sector.
