DODOMA: TWO persons have been arraigned before the Dodoma Resident Magistrates’ Court charged with murdering Greyson Kanyenye (6), the son of a prominent businesswoman in Dodoma Zainab Zengo alias Jojo.
The two suspects, Kelvin Gilbert (27), who is a Bodaboda driver and Tumaini Msangi (28) appeared before the corridors of justice earlier on Monday.
Before Resident Magistrate Denis Mpelembwa, State Attorney Patricia Mkina said that On December 25, 2024, the two suspects residing at Ipagala in Dodoma murdered Greyson at Ilazo area in the city.
However, the suspects were not allowed to enter any plea as the court had no jurisdiction to preside over murder cases.
The court remanded them as Magistrate Mpelembwa mentioned January 13, 2025 as the date when the case will come for mention.
The six-year-old Graison is said to have been fatally hit on his head with a heavy object during the night of December 25, while his mother was away.
Immediately after he was killed, Dodoma residents took to the social media expressing their shock over the brutal murder of an innocent boy.

Almost every person expressed deep sorrow to the Kanyenye family.
Later, Dodoma Regional Police Commander (RPC), George Katabazi, confirmed the incident saying that the child’s body was discovered inside the house with brutal injuries on his neck.
According to earlier reports, the son of a popular businesswoman Zainab Zengo popularly known as Jojo was hit with a strong object while his mother was away on the evening outing.
