TSN earns kudos for embracing e-paper services

MINISTRY of Information and Communication Technology Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr Selestine Kakele has commended the Tanzania Standard (Newspaper) Limited (TSN) for embracing e-paper technology.

TSN is the publisher of government owned newspapers — Daily News, Habari Leo as well as Daily News Digital.

Speaking yesterday when he visited the TSN booth at the Tehama Pavilion at the ongoing 47th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) at the Mwalimu JK Nyerere grounds in Dar es Salaam, the deputy permanent secretary said TSN is doing well in the market to reach their customers.

He said embracing e-paper is an indication of an evolving institution in an era of new technological evolution.

“The world is moving very fast technologically and in order to reach more customers quickly and probably at a low cost we need to act fast,” said Mr Kakele.

He noted that there is an urgent need to constantly reposition Tanzania to come on to competitively compete with the ever-changing global communication highway demands.

“I congratulate you (TSN) and I believe you will continue to work better to serve Tanzanians, including informing them of the various activities the government is doing,” he said.

On her part, the TSN Managing Director, Ms Tuma Abdallah said the company will continue to provide good services to its clients.

Ms Abdallah said TSN produces various products to almost all segments of audiences from adults, children, students and business people.

“In the case of students, we have been providing educational services for all levels of education from primary to A Level, where various teachers contribute their ideas,” said Ms Abdallah

She also said that TSN provides education in the Chinese language, which is provided by the Confucius Institute at University of Dar es Salaam.
