TRA hands over 30m/- to Ilala entrepreneurs

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in the Ilala Tax Region has handed over 30m/- to 15 business stakeholder groups as part of the implementation of promise made by TRA Commissioner General, Yusuph Mwenda to empower entrepreneurs.
The Commissioner said during the launch of the Special Business Facilitation Desk for the Dar es Salaam Region, in September, that TRA is committed to enabling entrepreneur groups to develop their businesses.
Each group was given 2.0m/- from the distributed funds.
The TRA’s Ilala Tax Region Manager, Eva Raphael, representing the Commissioner General, said they have decided to enable the groups to develop and grow their businesses as one of the purposes of establishing the special business facilitation desk.

“We are very grateful for the cooperation you have been providing to TRA and being our good ambassadors to explain the work done by TRA to the community,” Ms Raphael said.
According to her, the groups that benefited from the funds were based in markets in Ilala, Buguruni Kwa Simba, Zingiziwa, Kisutu, Msongola, the Ferry International Fish Market, Chanika, Mnadani Pugu and Gongolamboto.
She also named other groups operating in markets at Vingunguti’s Nyamachoma Machinjioni, Kigogo, Kimanga, Segerea and Kinyerezi, as well as the motorcycle and tricycle drivers’ unions, Dar es Salaam Region.
Nasoro Mbaga, the Chairman of Ferry fish market and Felix Chilumate, the Pugu Mnadani market Assistant Secretary, thanked for recognising small traders and continuing to build trust with traders.
