TPA extends support to Bukombe health facility

THE Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has donated beds, computers and bed sheets to Bukombe Health Centre in Misungwi District here, to support the government’s efforts towards bringing social services closer to Tanzanians.

This support is part of TPA Week commemorations, said the Acting Manager for Lake Victoria ports, Mr Fransico Mwanga, during the handing over ceremony over the weekend.

“Giving a section of the profit back to the community is the authority’s culture, as we are aware that every Tanzania deserves access to all social services and that is what the government fights for,” he said.

The centre Acting Doctor-in-Charge, Mr Pius Fred, commended TPA, saying will significantly address shortage of such equipment at the facility.

He said that the computers would help the centre to switch into paperless operations, hence promote environmental conservations, while also reducing congestion, while also calling on other stakeholders to support the efforts.

Marketing Officer for Lake Victoria ports, Mr Thomas Cheche, explained that TPA Week that kicked-off last Saturday also involves environment cleaning and blood donation at Sekou Toure Mwanza Regional Hospital.

“These two exercises will take place on September 15th this year. We will also have sports bonanza to be staged at the CCM Kirumba Stadium,” said Mr Cheche.
