Thousands gather in Kisumu to bid farewell to the late Raila Odinga

KISUMU: THOUSANDS of Kenyans turned out today, October 18, 2025, at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu County, to pay their last respects to the late Raila Odinga.

Odinga, a longtime opposition leader, passed away on October 15 in India, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

Some citizens who spoke to Daily News said Odinga will be remembered for uniting Kenyans regardless of their differences.

They cited his fight for equality, human rights, and good governance as some of his lasting legacies.

Odinga’s body will be laid to rest tomorrow, October 19, 2025, at his Opoda Farm in Siaya County.
