TFS Advisory Board happy with Amani Reserve investment

THE Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency Advisory Board has admired infrastructure investment in conservation biodiversity at Amani Nature Reserve.

Members of the board visited the Amani Nature Reserve with the aim of inspecting the improvement of infrastructure and tourism services on March 22 in Muheza district of Tanga region.

The members of the board were satisfied with the large investment made in the infrastructures and environment of the park built by the funds released in easing Covid 19 challenges, but also the private budget to improve the remaining areas.

A member of the board, Advocate Piensia Kiure, praised the leadership of TFS for the large investment they have made in the park and asked them to increase creativity in promoting the park.

“The investment made here is very big and potential to the country’s economy, therefore the power of promoting it should increase as well as become creative and give ideas that will help to improve the Reserve,” Advocate Kiure said.

He noted that major investments have already been made and now is the time to ensure that there are solid strategies to promote themselves while asking tourism officials to be creative and manage the implementation of goals in any situation.

Furthermore, Adv Kiure urged the administration to enter into agreements (MOU) with countries that do well in tourism ecosystems so that they can exchange experts with the aim of sharing knowledge.

“If you want to have new knowledge of how to improve the Reserve it is important to have good relationship with countries who have maintain and do well in tourism industry by letting their experts in to our reserve areas and share the knowledge,” Adv Kiure said.

For his part, Board Member CPA Mr Bahati Masila praised the leadership of TFS for preserving and ensuring that the tourism infrastructures in the reserve are improved and promised to be the leading visitor who will visit the reserve with his family.

The Head of TFS Tourism Division, Mr Someni Mteleka said that to ensure the investments that have been made are productive, among other things they have already produced videos in four different languages (Chinese, German, English and Swahili) aimed at reaching more tourists.

On other hand, the TFS Deputy Assistant Commissioner and Chief Accountant Mr Peter Mwakosya said that in this financial year, the Agency has allocated funds to improve its reserves in order to attract more 5,000,000 tourists by 2025 as it is set by the Government.
