Tanzania Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has said that all Sim cards that will not be used for about 90 days will be automatically blocked.
TCRA made the statement on Tuesday through its twitter account, @TCRA_Tz adding that any phone user(s) who will not consistency use his/her simcards will be either blocked or given to another user.
The authority further urged the public to ensure that they inform their service providers in case they will not be using a number for certain period of time to avoid the inconvenience.
“The service provider will not block those simcards that have not been used for about 90 days consecutively if the customer has given a written notice that the sim card will not be used for a continuous period of three to 12 months,” TCRA tweeted.
TCRA is a statutory regulatory body responsible for regulating the electronic and postal communication sector in Tanzania.
