TBS ready to cooperation with stakeholders on standards

Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has reinstated its advice to local manufacturers, importers and other stakeholders to cooperate with them in ensuring they produce both regional and global standards products.

The advice was given by the, when he was speaking recently, during the meeting with the journalists who paid the visit to the company.

The TBS Inspector, Mr Andalalisye Mwakyembe, said when journalists toured the bureau recently, that they will leave no stone unturned on inspecting and avoiding substandard and counterfeit products enter the market.

“TBS inspectors are at all borders working diligently on inspecting and testing of quality for import and export goods,” Mr Mwakyembe said, “those failed to meet our standards are either destroyed or returned to sender.”

TBS are doing Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) to ensure that all imports of regulated products comply with the approved

Tanzanian technical regulations, for instance the country or other approved international standards, prior to shipment.

The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by PVoC partners shall be provided for customs clearance.This simplifies port clearing process.
