Tanzanian designer smells fortune at Wear nigeria gala

ABUJA: TANZANIAN fashion designer and model Agusta Masaki has arrived in Nigeria to represent the country at the major fashion event, Africana Royal Elegance Collection, scheduled to start tomorrow, November 28 to 30 this year.
Speaking to the Daily News, Ms Masaki said the opportunity marks a significant milestone in her creative journey and is a great honor to showcase Tanzania on an international platform.
“I am very excited to present my African Royal Elegance collection at Wearnigeria2025 through Agustafashion.tz. From Dar es Salaam to Lagos, I celebrate the strength, beauty, and confidence of women across the world,” she said.
She highlighted that among the outfits she will showcase are traditional designs made from Tanzanian khanga produced by NIDA Textile Mill, as well as vitenge fabrics, intending to promote Tanzanian culture through modern and unique fashion styles.

Ms Masaki expressed her gratitude to Wearnigeria for the opportunity and praised government leaders for creating a supportive environment for artists and designers in the country.

“Thank you, Wearnigeria, for this special opportunity! My appreciation also goes to my Tanzanian government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Ministry, BASATA, and fellow Tanzanians for motivating me as I represent our nation,” she added.
Agusta also called on young people to continue using their talents to create self-employment and promote Tanzania through various art forms, including fashion, music, and acting, emphasizing that art is a powerful tool for showcasing the country globally.
