Tanzania strengthens global mining ties

TANZANIA: TANZANIA’S mining sector gained international trust as Nesch Mintec Private Limited signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s New Future Mining Company to establish a modern mineral testing laboratory in Jeddah.

Tanzania Investment Centre Executive Director Gilead Teri pledged continued government support for investors to grow the mining sector, which contributes about 10 per cent to GDP.

He praised Nesch Mintec for expanding international collaborations.

Mwanza-based Nesch Mintec secured the agreement due to its strong credentials, including ISO 17025:2017 certification from an internationally recognised mineral testing authority.

At the signing ceremony, Nesch Mintec Chief Operating Officer, Happiness Nesvinga said the partnership will boost Tanzania’s global reputation and expand investment opportunities.

“This collaboration positions Tanzania as a trusted player on the international stage,” she added.

While the new lab will be in Saudi Arabia, Nesch will continue providing services in Tanzania.

The partnership will position Tanzania as a mining innovation hub in Africa and boost cross-border trade and cooperation.

New Future Mining CEO Mohammedi Alomoudi said the new Analytical Hub will feature cutting-edge technology and meet international standards, serving as a regional centre of excellence for mineral testing and geochemical analysis.

He added it will boost local skills, create jobs and advance the mining sector
