Tanzania and Pakistan’s trade volume rose to 223million US dollars in June 2022 from 163million US dollars same month last year, according to Acting Commissioner, Charge de’ Affairs at the Pakistan Embassy in Dar es Salaam.
Muhamad Azam Bihan, said at a night gala to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their country’s independence Pakistan’s nationals living in Tanzania is estimated to reach 3,000 people. The number includes traders and expatriates.
Mr Bihan attributed strong diplomatic ties between the two countries to an increase in trade volume especially in textiles, steel industries, agriculture, mining, medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
“ne of the contributing factor to growth of trader in post Covid 19 pandemic is due to stronger diplomatic ties which has brought about conducive and business friendlier environment and country stability,” he said
Pakistan-Tanzania Business Council chairperson Sheikh Shahid Majeed said Pakistan’s investors’ planned projects includes that of investing in fertilizer production factory in the country
