Tanzania names Korea among its development partners for 2025-30

SEOUL: TANZANIA has continued to remain among Korea’s government priority countries for development assistance (ODA) for another five years (2025–2030).

The decision was reached during the Korea–Africa Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) held in Seoul, Korea, from November 4 to 5, 2025.

During the meeting, Tanzania was represented by the Director of the Department of Asia and Australasia, Felista Rugambwa.

According to information from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the move reflects Korean confidence in Tanzania’s partnership and effectiveness in implementing development projects, in line with the Tanzania Development Vision 2050 and the Five-Year Development Plan (2025–2030).

The meeting served as a follow-up platform to review progress since the Korea–Africa Summit and to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation across various fields.

Representatives from 47 African nations participated in the meeting.
