MWANZA: SENGEREMA District Commissioner, Senyi Ngaga, has instructed the Buchosa Council Executive Director in Sengerema District to ensure that they put in place effective plans to complete the delayed development projects.
She issued the order recently during a visit in Buchosa to inspect various development projects implemented by the council, especially the construction of classrooms as well as the one that receives funds from the central government.
She said the presence of many fences in the Council is a sign that there is a great awareness of the people in contributing to development projects, hence, she instructed the Executive Director of the Council to set strategies to complete the projects started by the citizens, including new secondary schools in Nyamabano, Luchili and Katoma.
“I congratulate you for the efforts shown by the people in contributing to the development projects, but the Council should see a good way to complete these classes so that they can be used as soon as possible,” she said.
Ms Ngaga also instructed the leadership of the Council to ensure that it completes the construction of the Nyanzenda Health Centre which has not been completed for a long time. In the course, the leadership of the Council promised to complete the construction of the centre by June 2024.
In another step, the DC has ordered the White City International Contractors company that is building the Push Irrigation project to ensure that it completes the construction by December 22, this year, otherwise further steps are going to be taken against the contractor.
While in Nyanzenda Centre, the DC officially launched the exercise for the distribution of vaccines against Schistosomiasis and worms at Nyamabano Primary School, where she asked the community to cooperate in the exercise by allowing their children to be vaccinated since they are harmless.
Through the exercise, more than 98,000 pupils in 99 primary schools in the council are expected to be vaccinated.
The Chairman of Buchosa Council, Mr Mheshimiwa Kibanzi, asked the coordinator of Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) in the council to ensure that he properly supervises the construction of two classrooms in the Nyamabano primary school.
