Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) has launched a new Drink-driving e-learning module dubbed ‘wrong side of the road’, which aims at promoting positive drinking and propagating the message of moderation.
The SBL Corporate Relations Director, John Wanyancha said in Dar es Salaam on Sunday that the module has been designed to change attitudes toward drink-driving to improve road safety.
“This module promotes changes in attitudes towards drunk driving. The module is designed to reduce the number of people who believe drink-driving is socially acceptable and would consider driving impaired.
It also increases knowledge and understanding of the dangers of drunk driving, and the effects alcohol has on the body,” he said.
He the brewer remains committed in its drive towards ensuring responsible consumption of alcohol.
Henceforth, it will push the campaign against drinking and driving far and wide to ensure more people are aware of the dangers of driving while impaired by alcohol.
He said the module involves a short, authentic, and immersive experience that allows the public to have an interactive conversation with a natural drink driver. Real people, real stories, real consequences.
The experience is also designed to help people understand the effects of alcohol and the shame and stigma that come with driving while drunk. After all, a bad decision could mean you are on the wrong side of the road.
“We are excited to launch this important campaign that spreads the message against drinking and driving across the country and also changes perceptions of people that it is socially acceptable to drink a little and drive.
We want to continue to echo the message that drinking and driving are dangerous, not just for consumers but also for other innocent road users,” he said.
