Queen Lugembe joins Ubungo Parliamentary race on ACT Wazalendo ticket   

DAR ES SALAAM: Activist and ACT-Wazalendo cadre, Queen Julieth William Lugembe, has officially entered the 2025 General Election race by collecting nomination forms to contest for the Ubungo parliamentary seat.

Speaking shortly after picking the forms at the offices of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Queen Lugembe said her decision stems from a strong commitment to serve the people of Ubungo with transparency, accountability, and integrity.

“Ubungo is one of the constituencies facing numerous challenges, but it also holds significant opportunities for development. I have decided to contest for parliament to work hand in hand with citizens in addressing these challenges while unlocking opportunities for the benefit of all,” she said.

The collection of nomination forms is part of the ongoing nationwide process for parliamentary aspirants, which runs from August 14 to 27 under NEC’s supervision.

Queen Lugembe is expected to face contenders from other political parties, with Ubungo constituency considered one of the most politically competitive seats in Dar es Salaam.

ACT-Wazalendo, through its candidates, has reiterated its commitment to upholding ethical leadership, good governance, and inclusive development for all Tanzanians.
