Pump price falls by over 100/- in Dar es Salaam
The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (Ewura) has announced new retail and wholesale prices for petroleum products in the country for the month of July, indicating that retail prices of petrol and diesel imported through Dar es Salaam port have decreased by 137/- and 118/- per litre respectively.
According to the new fuel cap prices published on Wednesday by Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) the price of kerosene imported through the port remains the same as the prices that were published on June7, 2023.
The regulator says for Northern regions namely Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Manyara, retail prices of petrol for July 2023 have decreased by TZS 188/litre whilst the price of diesel has increased by TZS 58/litre as compared to the prices that were published on June 7, 2023.
“Moreover, due to depletion of kerosene at Tanga and Mtwara storage terminal, Petrol Station Operators in the Northern regions are advised to source kerosene from Dar es Salaam. Therefore, the retail prices of kerosene for those regions are based on the cost of the product received through Dar es Salaam port and the transport cost to the respective regions,” the statement says.
It further said, for Southern regions; Mtwara, Lindi, and Ruvuma, retail prices of petrol and diesel for July 2023 remains the same as the price that were published on June 7,2023.
