Dr Yonazi commended PAPU management and TCRA for their close supervision of the project.

“I have seen the good work being done, but time is not on our side, and the government cannot wait any longer, I am instructing for the formation of a committee which will be responsible for preparations for the inauguration of the building,” Dr Yonazi said.

He directed the committee which oversees the construction of the building under the coordination of TCRA to keep records of all those who have been involved in the construction of the historical building from the first phase government under President Julius Nyerere, contractors, service providers and individuals.

“You should prepare a special booklet with names of all people who contributed to the success of the project,” he said.

On his part, PAPU Secretary General Sifundo Moyo expressed gratitude to Dr Yonazi for touring the project to see its progress.

“The visit has come at a right time as we finalise the construction of this building which is crucial for PAPU. I express my gratitude to the government of Tanzania for close supervision of this project,” he said.

He assured Dr Yonazi that the preparation of the booklet with all the names of people who have been involved in the construction of the building will be implemented and kept in PAPU library.

The construction of the building commenced on January 2020 and is expected to be handed over for use in March next year.
