PM to grace 7th empowerment forum next month
TANZANIA, Dodoma PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa is expected to be the Chief Guest at the forthcoming 7th National Economic Empowerment Forum planned to be held in Dodoma on September 29.
The National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) Executive Secretary, Ms Beng’i Issa told reporters here yesterday that the important event will be preceded by a three-day exhibition of entrepreneurs starting September 26 to 28 at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre.
“This year’s forum will provide a splendid opportunity to evaluate implementation of the empowerment policy. We will also revisit the prime minister’s directive wanting all regions to establish empowerment centres,” Ms Issa explained.
According to the NEEC boss, the theme for this year’s forum ‘Uwezeshaji kwa Uchumi Endelevu’, meaning Empowerment for Economic Sustainable would pave way for critical discussion during the forum.
She said awards will also be given to the region which excelled in matters related to economic empowerment and institutions that deal with empowerment facilitation and entrepreneurs who fared well last year.
“As the council tasked for economic empowerment, we extend our appreciation and support the council has been receiving from President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has been closely following what we are doing in empowering women and youths,” Ms Issa said.
She said the forum will attract all ministries, corporations, authorities, government agencies and institutions, private companies under the umbrella of Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), regions, district councils, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, institutions of education and research, investors and all stakeholders on empowerment issues.
