Over 5,000 people to benefit from Royal Tour programme

MORE than 5, 000 stakeholders who operate in tourism industry value chain are expected to benefit from special training offered by the National College Tourism (NCT) on improving tourism services.

The training would be provided under the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources as part of the Royal Tour programme.

NCT  Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Shogo Mlozi,  said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the launch of the programme will be officiated by the Minister of Tourism and Natural Resources, Dr Pindi Chana at the college’s Dar es Salaam Campus.

“In considering competition and demand in tourism market, the college has prepared strategic training to the stakeholders who are in the tourism industry,” she said.

Expounding, she stated that the programme is part of the government efforts to expand tourism sector and support President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s tourism boosting initiatives through the Royal Tour project.

Beneficiaries of this programme will include immigration officers, journalists, police officers, food vendors, celebrities, transporters and others.

According to Dr Mlozi, the programme will be conducted in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Arusha, Mwanza, Mara and Kilimanjaro.

As part of the programme, different international languages including Italian, French, English and others will also be taught.
