Opening up new era of solar: Huawei FusionSolar Tanzania Partner Summit 2024

DAR ES SALAAM: IN the busy city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a groundbreaking event took place that would pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future. It was a historic moment as Huawei Digital Power hosted its first-ever summit in Africa, bringing together channel partners from across the region to unveil the latest sustainable energy solutions in the industry.

It was the Huawei Fusion Solar Tanzania Partner Summit 2024, a gathering of innovative minds dedicated to harnessing the power of solar energy to light up Africa in an eco-friendly manner.

The theme of the Summit, “Lighting Up a Greener Africa” resonated with all attendees, as they were eager to explore the latest sustainable energy solutions in the industry.

On his remarks, the President of Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region, Mr Xia Hesheng, set the tone for the event with his visionary speech on how carbon neutrality and intelligence will shape the future of ecological civilization.

“With the continuous improvement of photovoltaic(PV) generation efficiency and lower prices,” he said …“the era of ‘PV+ Storage parity’ is coming, and PV + energy storage will become the most economical and universal form of power,” he added.

With a focus on “Storage parity” Mr. Xia highlighted the growing efficiency and affordability of photovoltaic generation, emphasizing that solar energy coupled with energy storage would soon become the most economical and widespread form of power.

Literally, PV systems generate electricity from sunlight collected by solar panels. This energy can be used directly or stored in batteries.

PV systems have been successfully deployed all over the world for decades in a variety of applications, including power for remote weather stations and telecommunications towers, residential installations, community micro-grids, and grid-scale power plants. Perhaps the greatest advantage of PV technology in meeting such a wide range of applications is scalability.

Huawei’s commitment to providing full-scenario solar solutions and cutting-edge technologies based on 4T Bit, Thermal, Watt, Battery underscored their leadership in the industry.

Mr Xia added, “Facing the booming market prospects of the PV industry, Huawei Digital Power will continue to deepen its ecological strategy, adhering to the principles of “shared benefits as the bridge, integrity as the foundation, and rules as the guarantee.”

“Huawei will establish a partnership system based on “trust, profit, simplicity, and growth,” growing together with partners and winning in the new era of Digital Power,” he said.

As the Summit unfolded, Huawei Digital Power unveiled its channel partner policy, centered on mutual benefit and ecosystem integration. The four ‘PSEE’ measures—Profitability, Simplicity, Enablement, Ecosystem—outlined the company’s dedication to enhancing partner capabilities and fostering a thriving partnership system based on trust, growth, and simplicity.

Vice President of Huawei Digital Power Eastern Africa Region, Nick Lusson, shed light on global trends in the smart PV industry and Huawei's role in promoting smart string inverters
worldwide.

The introduction of All-Scenario Smart PV+ESS Solutions, tailored for residential, commercial, and industrial users, showcased Huawei's versatility and commitment to providing green energy solutions for all.
The event also featured partners sharing their success stories and collaborative efforts with Huawei, highlighting the transformative impact of Huawei's premium product solutions and extensive channel policies. The spirit of partnership and cooperation echoed throughout the Summit, emphasizing the crucial role of collective action in ushering in a new era of solar energy.

In closing, Huawei reaffirmed its dedication to creating a low-carbon society and a brighter, greener future for Africa through collaboration with its partners. With a shared vision of sustainability and innovation, the participants left the Summit inspired and motivated to continue their journey towards a cleaner, more energy-efficient tomorrow.

The stage was set for a new era of solar energy, where every ray of sunshine would be harnessed to illuminate the path to a more sustainable world.

As the summit draws to a close, Mr Xia reaffirms Huawei's commitment to creating a better, greener future with its partners, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving the solar industry forward. In fact, the promise of a new era of solar energy shines brightly, illuminating the path towards a sustainable and prosperous
future for Africa.

According to reports, the shifting landscape of the PV market can be attributed to the escalating demand in the market. The second half of 2017 witnessed a significant boost in the market, primarily driven by favorable domestic distributed policies.

This resulted in the surpassing of expectations in distributed installed capacity and the expansion of PV application scenarios. Subsequently, from the second half of 2018 to 2019, the market saw considerable momentum following the cancellation of the European anti-dumping and anti-subsidy legislation, gradually leading PV into an era of parity.

Between 2020 and 2022, the market’s driving force predominantly stemmed from the attainment of PV parity
across all aspects.

Furthermore, numerous countries began setting ambitious targets for carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, further bolstering the demand for sustainable energy solutions. Consequently, the surge in demand in a relatively short period of time led to an increase in raw material prices.

Undoubtedly, demand serves as the core driver influencing stock prices, both in cyclical and growth sectors. It also forms the crucial foundation for the relationship between cyclical and growth phases. As demand rises, growth strengthens, expanding the industry’s growth rate and space, resulting in the coveted Davis double-killing effect of enhanced performance and valuation.
