THE 2022 National Population and Housing Census Commissioner, Ms Anne Makinda said the National Population and Housing Census (PHC) will last for at least seven days hence residents shouldn’t panic.
She promised that all households will be reached out by census officials.
Speaking in Dodoma on Tuesday, Ms Makinda, the former Speaker of the National Assembly, thanked the media outlets for playing a pivotal role in educating and raising awareness about the exercise.
“Had we had the best philosophy to the public on the population and housing census, without you sending the message to the public, participation and awareness would have been a very difficult task, we value the media contribution,” she insisted.
Adding “You have done exemplary job, you have made public awareness easy for us, this kind of patriotism should be cherished in other national interest avenue as well, team work as citizen of this country is of paramount importance,” said Ms Makinda
She said the public should not panic if they are not reached by the clerk of the census today [Tuesday, 23 August 23, 2022] as the counting will continue for at least seven days.
