NMB unveils smart deposit ATMs

DAR ES SALAAM: NMB Bank has unveiled a specialised Cash Deposit ATM that allows customers to deposit money directly into their accounts without the need for a teller, in a move to align Tanzania with the rapid technological advancements in the financial sector.
By enabling direct, round the-clock cash deposits without teller assistance, the innovation supports financial inclusion, reduces the risks associated with carrying large sums of money and aligns with the country’s broader digital transformation goals in the financial sector.
Speaking at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), NMB Dar es Salaam Zonal Manager, Mr Seka Urio, said the new ATM aims to support traders by eliminating the need to carry large amounts of cash.
“We want to offer traders and the public the convenience of depositing money anytime without visiting the counter,” he said.
This is part of NMB’s strategy to ensure financial services are accessible and more secure” Mr Urio said.
NMB’s new cash deposit ATMs, available 24/7, allow customers to deposit up to 20m/- per transaction, offering a fast, safe and modern banking solution.
The NMB’s Dar es Salaam Zonal Manager, Mr Seka Urio assured the public that the ATMs are equipped with strong security measures, including 24/7 surveillance by guards and CCTV cameras.
“We’re fully prepared to ensure customer safety during transactions,” he said.
