NMB backs business for national growth
MWANZA: NMB Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to be a strong partner for businesses, underscoring its broader significance in fostering financial inclusion, economic stability and sustainable national development.
NMB’s Chief Retail Banking Officer, Mr Filbert Mponzi, highlighted the bank’s strong capacity to serve businesses nationwide during a meeting with 120 prominent businesspeople in Mwanza, stating that NMB is capable of providing loans exceeding 550bn/- to a single client.
“This is a clear indication of NMB’s financial strength and real capacity to serve large businesses,” said Mponzi.
During the meeting, both sides openly shared their views and expectations. The meeting, aimed at strengthening the business relationship between the bank and its major clients, brought together senior executives from NMB, government representatives and business leaders from the city.
He praised the government for creating a conducive business environment, which he said has contributed to the growth of the private sector and increased the demand for financial services. Mr Mponzi emphasised NMB’s readiness to support businesses with a wide range of solutions, including loans, modern payment systems and insurance services.
“We have all the essential tools for your business from financing to innovative payments and insurance. Bring us your needs; we’re here to serve you,” he said.
He also highlighted NMB’s accolades, noting its recognition as the safest bank in Tanzania for three consecutive years by Global Banking & Finance and winning Euromoney’s Best Bank in Tanzania award 11 times in the past 13 years.
On behalf of the business community, Mwanza Region Business Chairman Mr Gabriel Mgini expressed gratitude to NMB for its trust and continued support, even during challenging times.
