NMB backs 39th ALAT AGM with 170m/-

DODOMA: NMB Bank has contributed 170m/- as part of its sponsorship for the 39th Annual General Meeting of the Association of Local Authorities of Tanzania (ALAT), which is set to be graced by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in Dodoma today.

This amount is part of 1.4bn/- that the bank has disbursed to ALAT over the past nine years of its sponsorship. NMB Bank’s Chief of Wholesale Banking, Alfred Shao emphasised that the bank will continue its collaboration with the organisation for the betterment of Tanzanians.

“In addition to this amount, it is worth noting that we began our contributions nearly nine years ago. We believe in continuing these partnerships,” he stated.

Mr Shao highlighted that over this period, they have received substantial support from ALAT, leading them to comfortably sustain their sponsorship efforts, as they do so for the development of the Tanzanian people.

He mentioned that of the funds delivered included 100m/- as cash, while 70m/- is allocated for equipment and additional services.

Moreover, he invited all ALAT delegates to join the bank in an Iftar meal scheduled for today, as an opportunity to share ideas and insights.

He reaffirmed that throughout the duration of the conference, NMB will continue to provide its services at their booth located in the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Hall.

ALAT Chairman, Mr Murshid Ngeze, emphasised the critical role NMB has played in facilitating seamless service delivery through local councils.

He expressed that their collaboration with NMB has removed barriers that might have hindered service provision, especially in more distant areas.

“Whenever I am asked to speak about NMB, I share several points, but most importantly, we have never encountered service delivery issues in any local authority connected to the NMB network. They are truly close to us and more than that,” said Mr Ngeze, underlining the strength and consistency of the partnership.

On the other hand, ALAT Vice-Chairman, Sima Constantine, reiterated the importance of the relationship with NMB.

He highlighted that the partnership has been a fundamental factor in their mutual successes, with NMB consistently delivering results.

“Nothing can hinder our collaboration with NMB. We continue to see significant achievements and this proves the strength of our partnership,” said Mr Constantine.

He emphasised that this solid foundation has allowed both organisations to continue thriving in their respective goals.

Looking forward, Mr Ngeze expressed his belief that the partnership with NMB will continue to evolve, bringing new opportunities to improve service delivery across local authorities.

He shared his excitement about the potential for further expansion, particularly in enhancing access to services for underserved communities.

Similarly, Mr Constantine also conveyed optimism for the future, stating that the ongoing collaboration between ALAT and NMB would drive further progress, enabling them to reach even more individuals with vital services.
