The launch, which is a partnership between Nokia and Vodacom Tanzania, comes barely two months after Nokia Asha 302 and Nokia Asha 200 were introduced in to the local market and will sell at only 74,999/-.
A statement issued by the mobile phone service provider said that upon purchase of Nokia 111, customers will get free internet and double airtime once in every month for six months upon first recharge of 1,000/- or above.
“Customers will also enjoy free unlimited facebook, twitter and Wikipedia on the Nokia 111,” says Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director, Rene Meza, adding that it is an ideal phone for the youth market because of its affordability.
Nokia 111 boasts of, among others, a memory card slot which has up to 32GB storage capacity and VGA camera.According to Nokia Country Director, Samson Majwala, customers can also download applications and famous games such as Fifa 12, Tetris and Need for speed.
“The Nokia 111 has interesting features which are easy to use, a factor that will attract more subscribers to buy,” says Majwala. “It is also user-friendly and catchy to the eyes. We hope that customers shall enjoy using them.”
There shall be regular countrywide activations which shall enable subscribers to be reached.“I would like to assure our customers and subscribers that we shall continue bringing more and better services in order to serve them better and also to have a great relationship together,” says Meza.
