TFF revises Premier League fixture

TFF Information Officer, Boniface Wambura, said Taifa Stars will play an international friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on February 23 this year as preparations for the 2013 AFCON Qualifiers against Mozambique penned for six days later.    

“The adjustments have been put into effect following the agreement reached by the Mainland Premier League clubs that the league will be put on hold during any of Taifa Stars’ assignments,” he said.  

Wambura said the match between JKT Ruvu and Toto Africans will now be played on March 3 this year and the match pitting Yanga against Azam FC has been scheduled for March 10 this year, while the JKT Oljoro versus Kagera Sugar duel will take place on March 3 this year.  

“The match between Polisi Dodoma and Kagera Sugar will take place on March 11 this year, the duel between Moro United and JKT Ruvu (March 3 this year), the African Lyon versus Ruvu Shooting (March 7 this year) and the match between JKT Oljoro and Toto Africans will be on March 7 this year,” he said.   He said the teams that have been mentioned first will be playing at their respective home venues. 

Four Mainland Premier League matches will be on the cards this weekend, in which Tanga’s Coastal Union will host Ruvu Shooting Stars at Mkwakwani Stadium tomorrow while Villa Squad will travel to Manungu, Morogoro, to confront Mtibwa Sugar the same day.  The other match will pit Polisi Dodoma against Moro United at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma while African Lyon will host Arusha’s JKT Oljoro at Chamazi, on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.  

Meanwhile, the Mainland First Division League continues this weekend, in which Polisi Morogoro will confront Rhino FC of Tabora in a group C game at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.  Group A will see Morani FC take on Temeke United in Manyara tomorrow while Transit Camp and Polisi Dar es Salaam will lock horns at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on Monday.

Burkina Faso will meet Mgambo Shooting at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro the same day.  In group B, Small Kids will host Mbeya City at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro tomorrow, Mlale and Polisi Iringa will clash at Majimaji Stadium in Ruvuma as Tanzania Prisons will face Majimaji at Sokoine Memorial Stadium in Mbeya the same day.
