The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Job Ndugai, told legislators shortly before lunch break that Dr Magufuli was in hospital.Mr Ndugai was forced to give the announcement following rumours that the Works minister was in critical condition.
Mr Ndugai told the House that the minister had earlier developed hypertension and pneumonia but the situation was now under control after treatment.Meanwhile, Temeke MP, Mr Abbas Mtemvu was yesterday involved in a road accident while he was on his way to Dar es Salaam.
Mr Ndugai said the Temeke MP's vehicle collided with a lorry. He said the MP and his driver sustained minor injuries."They were attended at Morogoro Regional Hospital before proceeding to Dar es Salaam," the deputy Speaker added.
