A statement issued by the Ministry of Transport on Sunday said the appointment is effective March 15. The statement also said the Minister for Transport, Mr Omari Nundu has picked four members to the board. They are Mr Seleman O. Seleman, Mr Andrew Nyumayo, Ms Mwajuma Mwanilwa and van de Kreeke who is KADCO's Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment of the board comes at a time when KADCO is embarking on rehabilitation plan to enable bigger aircraft land at KIA. KADCO has already secured a USD 35 million (about 55bn/-) loan from Netherlands-based firm, Orion Grand for major facelift.
Last week Qatar announced plans to start flying to KIA using Airbus A320 via Nairobi, Kenya effective July this year. Other operators flying to KIA include KLM, Edelweiss Air, Condor Air and Ethiopian Airlines.
