Fire guts Dar es Salaam cafe

 Ilala Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Faustine Shilogile, said in the city on Wednesday that the cause of the fire was not known but investigations into the incident are underway."The cafe is owned by one Hanif Sunderji (45) and caught fire at around 12:30 am in the night but there were no reports of any person being hurt following the incident," he said.

In another incident, Mr Shilogile said police have arrested three suspects with 134 marijuana cigarettes at Tabata Kisiwani in Ilala municipality on Tuesday. He named the suspects as Frank Hassan (28), Said Mohamed (20) and Mahmud Rashid (28).  

In similar incident, police apprehended seven suspects with 60 marijuana cigarettes and 48 bundles of bhang at Kagera and Mabibo Relini areas in Kinondoni municipality on Tuesday.Kinondoni Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Charles Kenyela, mentioned the suspects as Hussein Songoro (27), Jerry Jerry (22), Mawazo Mwaipopo (22), Ramadhani Omari (35) and three others whose identity was not established.

In another development, police arrested four suspects with 8 bundles of marijuana at Yombo Vituka area in Temeke municipality on the same day.Temeke Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr David Misime, mentioned the suspects as William Mwandu (27), Francis Thomas (28), Simon Alex (26) and Hassan Rashid whose age was not established.
