Exim bank gives Kilakala primary school 100 desks

Exim Bank Managing Director Anthony Grant officiated at the event at the school, announcing that the bank that marks its 15th anniversary this August has adopted the school that faces many problems, shortage of teaching materials in particular.

Mr Grant said the bank will continue to support the school to improve the learning environment, “We are today announcing a new bond between Exim Bank and Kilakala Primary School. We have handed over 100 desks but we will continue supporting the school in other aspects.

“We believe our partnership will go a long way providing conducive learning environment at the school…we understand the critical role that education plays in social and economic development of communities.”

He said his bank was focusing on few projects that have an impact on communities instead of distributing the limited financial resources to different community development projects, “Once we are satisfied that our objectives have been met and the school is well equipped, we will pick another project under similar arrangement.”

Kilakala Primary School Head Teacher Abdul Kutarasa who received the desks on behalf of the school thanked the bank for the support and pledged to make good use of the desks. “We are grateful to Exim bank that has responded positively to our call…we believe that this new partnership will take us a long way in creating a better learning environment for students,” he said.
