The winners, who defeated TCA Kigogo and Annadil Burhani Development in the two previous match, were, again, in top form against the Schools Combine youngsters and their encouraging all round work ethic ultimately helped them power to victory.
Union Development won the toss and elected to bat, in which the team made full use of their innings to record 189 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 25 overs.
A quick-fire 69 posted by dependable top order batsman, Abbas Virjee, inspired team mates to give their all at the crease and ensure they finish the innings with massive total, which could later be a tall order for Schools Combine.
Virjee's composure at the crease, in which he faced 60 balls, saw him cracking 10 boundaries en route to registering what turned out to be the biggest score he has so far managed to record in recent games.
There were other impressive double digit scores notched by Virjee's fellow batsmen that are also dependable performers, in which Shamil Hameer scored 29 runs off 25 balls that included three boundaries, as Minhaal Nathoo finished his innings with 23 runs not out.
With the three batsmen at the top of their game, there was always hope Union Development could post a challenging total and the rest of the team's batsmen also did not disappoint as they, too, chipped in with handsome contribution later.
Chasing the massive triple digit total happened to be too much of a task for the Schools Combine young batsmen, who, in response, could only manage 46 runs all out in 15 overs and conceded defeat.
Union Development's Nathoo, who has lately emerged as the side's most dangerous bowler, mercilessly ripped through Schools Combine batting order to finish with an impressive figure of 5/10. Virjee wrapped his terrific all round displays by claiming 3/11.
Three straight wins in their latest three games have definitely developed confidence in the Union Development team and victory in the final will all but make a quite memorable spell for the side, which has yet to win silverware in competitive cricket.
