Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Information Officer, Boniface Wambura said yesterday those appointed to oversee the game to be played between May 4, 5 and 6 are Waziri Sheha who will be the central referee to be assisted by John Kanyenye and Erasmo Jesse.
Israel Mujuni Nkongo, who was recently attacked by Mainland Premier League giants Young African players, will be the fourth official, while the match commissioner is Aurelio Mathias from Mozambique. The first leg match will be played this Sunday in Delta, Nigeria in which Senegalese referees have been given the officiating task while the Tanzanians are responsible for the return leg encounter.
Meanwhile, Wambura said Police Morogoro, Mgambo United of Tanga and Mbeya’sTanzania Prisons have earned a promotion to the Mainland Premier League next season set kick off August, this year. The teams have earned promotion after emerging top three finishers at the just ended First Division League that reached its climax at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro on Monday.
Other teams which took part in the league but did not qualify for the top flight football and their points in brackets are Polisi Dar es Salaam (13), Mbeya City Council (11), Tabora’s Rhino Rangers (8), Ruvuma’s Mlale JKT (8), Polisi Tabora (6) and Dar es Salaam Transit Camp (2).
