Bank of Africa donates 10m/- to Rungwe school

Receiving the donation on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam, the Member of  Parliament for Rungwe West constituency, Prof. David Mwakyusa,   thanked the bank saying that it will greatly help in improving  teachers' welfare.

"This donation will go a long way in improving teachers' welfare at  Kisiba secondary," said Prof. Mwakyusa.  He said the money would be used for construction of three houses for  teachers and boost their morale.

He pledged that the money would be used for the intended purpose and that the bank will be getting the feedback now and then on the progress. He called upon other financial institutions in the country to emulate the bank in helping the education sector.

The bank's Managing Director, Mr Ammish Owusu-Amoah, said his bank was committed to give back to the society as part of its profits under the Corporate Social Responsibility programme. "Education is one of our priorities in our efforts to help the society  anywhere we operate," he said.

He said that the bank is serious in developing Africa as a continent  and particular countries where it operates. According to him, the bank has a branch in Mbeya Region and they  felt it important to help the school. "We are very happy to extend our helping hand to Kisiba Secondary  School," Mr Owusu-Amoah said.
