Namungo Coach wary of Dar opponents

NAMUNGO’s assistant coach Jamhuri Kihwelo has hailed Young Africans new signings saying they will be even more dangerous if they will get chemistry.

On Tuesday Kihwelo’s Namungo played preseason friendly with Tanzania champion Yanga at Avic Town and Yanga won 2-0 through Fiston Mayele and Heritier Makambo goals.

In that game Yanga featured some of his new faces like Joyce Lomalisa, Stephan Aziz Ki, Gael Bigirimana and others and all impressed in the game as the champions are going on with their pre-season drill ahead of Mwananchi Day this Saturday and in the Community Shield game against their traditional rivals Simba on August 13th this year.

Speaking with ‘Daily News’ Kihwelo, the former Simba’s defender and coach, said Yanga have a strong squad ahead of the 2022/23 league season and the CAF Champions League campaign if they get the required chemistry in their squad.

Kihwelo, famously known as Julio, went on to say that all  the new Yanga’s recruits are good and can add value to the last season’s squad.

“They have really strong team and that is for sure, only if they get the required chemistry. They will surely cause troubles to their opponents not only in the top flight league but also in the international level campaign,” he said.

Talking of his team Kihwelo said that they are getting on well and with their pre-season friendly against Yanga, they have already spotted the areas of weakness particularly in the defence and in the attacking areas due to the fact they conceded two goals and failed to score a single goal.

“This is merely a pre-season though I can take nothing away from Yanga’s win against us. We have already earmarked the areas to improve specifically in backline where we conceded two goals and the attacking area where we couldn’t manage to score,” said Kihwelo.
