President earns kudos for outstanding budget implementation

SPEAKER of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Ackson, has showered praises on President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leg government for implementing the 2021/2022 budget by almost 95 per cent.

Dr Ackson was speaking during an event to congratulate President Samia for overseeing the implementation of the current budget, which is coming to an end on June 30, this year.

“We’re very hopeful that if President Samia was able to deliver at that percentage for budget estimates which she inherited mid-way then she would do better in the next budget,” she remarked.

The event to congratulate the president in which Members of Parliament handed an award to Dr Ackson to be presented to the Head of State was organised by the Tanzania Parliamentary Women Group (TWPG).

The colourful event was also attended by male MPs and other lawmakers across the political divide.

“This budget has been prepared under her vision and leadership and we thus hope it will excel even further compared to the budget which she found midday,” the Speaker told the cheering parliamentarians.

“Let’s continue praying for the good health of our president, so that she can perform her duties.

It is very important to praise and encourage someone for a job well done,” she added.

She was equally impressed that the congratulatory message and award was presented by Members of Parliament who represent all Tanzanians across the country.

“The event could have been done inside the National Assembly but the MPs decided to conduct this affair outside the premises of the House,” she stated.

At the same occasion, the Deputy Secretary General of ruling CCM party (Mainland), Ms Christine Mndeme, said the budget estimates for the next fiscal year has touched every sector of the economy .

Apart from the budget, Ms Mndeme said the Royal Tour documentary championed by President Samia has opened up Tanzania to the world.

“The number of tourists visiting Tanzania has increased significantly since the documentary was launched,” she stated.

On the other hand, she warned the prophets of doom who have been spreading propaganda against the relocation of pastoral communities from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) and demarcation of Loliondo in Arusha Region.

“Through the relocation, the government under President Samia has lifted people from deplorable conditions to areas with good housing facilities with primary and secondary schools,” she observed.

One of the National Assembly’s Chairperson, Ms Najma Giga, praised President Samia for addressing 11 vexes of the Union within her one year in office.

“Within one year 11 challenges of the Union have been addressed and now only seven have remained, this is indeed commendable for her one year in office,” she explained.

Ms Giga expressed optimism that the Union between Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar will continue to prosper to being of its kind in the world.
