MPs commend CRDB for investment awareness campaign

CRDB Bank has been commended for being at the forefront of opening eyes to various investment opportunities which are available locally and abroad.

The bank, one of the largest lenders in the land, last week organised an awareness seminar to the Members of Parliament and Zanzibar’s House of Representatives in Dodoma.

Speaking at the Seminar, the Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Dr Tulia Ackson (MP) said efforts being made by the bank to provide investment awareness will boost the number of local investors to stimulate economic growth.

“We are relieved to see that CRDB is at the forefront in partnering with governments to build awareness of investment opportunities. Also its willingness to provide capital to would-be-investors,” said Dr Tulia.

The Speaker was delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of MPs. She challenged MPs and Representatives to seize the investment opportunities and pass the knowledge to the masses as well.

"The government has put in place effective strategies to ensure that not only investment is made for foreign investors, but also to locals through an investment centre TIC,” Dr Tulia said.

CRDB Managing Director Abdulmajid Nsekela said the aim of the seminar was to open the eyes of MPs and Representatives to domestic direct investments and portfolio investment opportunities available in the country.

"We have seen the good work being done by the government in strengthening the environment and opening doors of investment opportunities. As one of the leading banks in the country it is our responsibility to educate the public about these opportunities,” Mr Nsekela said.

Some of the opportunities discussed include investing in a value addition chain in agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transportation, infrastructure, technology, and investment in capital markets such as the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).
