President Samia on three-day working visit to Ghana

President Samia Suluhu Hassan will on Monday begin a three-day working visit to Accra, Ghana that focuses on strengthening relations between the two countries. She will also take part in a dialogue for Head of States over various opportunities and challenges facing African countries.

“They will discuss the growing impact of climate change, the rise of food prices and sustainable energy consumption,” read a statement from the acting director of the State House communications, Jaffar Haniu.

In addition, President Samia is also expected to receive the Babacar Ndiaye annual award due to the success of the sixth phase government in the construction of transport infrastructures.

On the 7th of April, President Samia was named as the 2022 winner of the Africa Road Builders–Babacar Ndiaye Trophy.

The selection committee for the award commended Hassan for her personal leadership, huge investments and commitment to extending roads and the railway network in Tanzania.

The prize is awarded to leading figures in Africa who have demonstrated their commitment to the development of transport infrastructure on the continent.
