OVER 1,000 university graduates have benefited from a community outreach programme called ‘Graduate Sales Bootcamp’ hosted at the Mzumbe University Dar-es-Salaam Campus College (MUDCC) from 2015.

The yearly training and coaching programme helps young graduates have skills to sell themselves and win job interviews as well as develop their career. Yesterday, the programme trained another group of youth from different universities under the theme: ‘First you learn then you remove the “l”.

An international Sales Coach, Mr Enzo Graziano, took the participants through inspiring presentation on how to achieve in their career path and dreams.

Founder and coordinator of the programme, Dr Darlene Mutalemwa, commented: “In the real world you have to win people, so what we do today is to give them some tips how to be better graduate, because you have to tell yourself by using your body language, the way you present yourself tells how confident you are.

We teach them how to win job interview.” Dr Mutalemwa explained that in the initiative started in 2015 and focused on sharing experience in selling, bearing in mind that selling is not about goods, but it cuts across different fields, for instance, a politician also has to sell himself or herself.

“Today we have students and graduates from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Ardhi University, Mzumbe University and University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). Some of these are graduates who expect to have interviews in the next few days,” she said, adding that the training is free of charge because it is volunteering programme. As she highlighted some achievements of the programme, she said: “usually, many of the participants end up getting jobs.”
