Kudos President Samia, education is the heart of the country

AS President Samia Suluhu Hassan marks one year in office on 19th March, this year, a lot of achievements have been realized in her regime and above all seeing into it that every child of school going age is in class, irrespective of his/her social class.

Bravo Mama Samia!

This is because education provides a foundation for development, the groundwork on which much of our economic and social well being is built. It is the key to increasing economic efficiency and social consistency and by increasing the value and efficiency of our country’s labor, it helps to pull out the poor from poverty.

No wonder Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” An educated population is important in building a nation’s economy.

According to studies, countries with the highest literacy rates are more likely to make progress in human and economic development.

National economic growth begins with individual economic growth, which is often linked back to education. It should be known without politics that the role of education in developing countries is a very important one as lack of it causes poverty and slows economic development of a country, especially if the country is a developing country.

In a nutshell, some of the advantages of education are: it boosts economic growth and increases the GDP of a country. It even reduces infant mortality rate, increases human life expectancy.

Education is an important investment in a country as there are huge benefits. Education guarantees lifetime income; it promotes peace in the country, and the list might be long.

On the strength above the sixth phase government deserves all sorts of support from the grassroots, so that a good a legacy is set in the education sector by improving learning and teaching environment, especially her efforts in constructing 15,000 classrooms for primary and secondary schools across the country during her one year reign.

This is the time to fully support the government without politicizing the sector that is known as the think-tank and heart of the country. No country would grow without elites in different fields; who must be groomed in the education system.

It is worth praise that leading by example, President Samia is focused also on empowering the girl-child so that all are brought on board in the name of developing Tanzania and to reinforce this, while highlighting achievements of Mama Samia one year in office, the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Adolph Mkenda, also said that her government is constructing new 245 secondary schools to specifically provide education to girls.

We see boxing glorious era coming back
