Police in Dar es Salaam has nabbed two people allegedly plotting and murdering of a 30-year old woman on infidelity related grounds.
The brutal and barbaric incident is said to have occurred at Maridadi Guest House in Tabata segerea, Ilala district in Dar es Salaam.
Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone Commander (ZPC) Jumanne Muliro said that the criminal act was carried out on 1st January 2022 when a woman named as MS Barke Rashidi, a resident of Utete Street in Ilala district, was found dead.
“Police have arrested two suspects, who include one person, Kasimu Abdallah alias "Baunsa" and Charles Gregory. Interrogations established that Mr. Abdallah was hired by his fellow (Charles) to conduct the crime," such a crime.
According to the commander, it was learned that Mr Gregory had paid a sum of Sh1.2 million to Mr. Abdallah who allegedly carried out the criminal act and that the outstanding 500,000/- was due to be paid later after accomplishing the work.
Investigations are still ongoing and the duo will be arranged to the court of law to answer charges against them, Commander Muliro confirmed.
In another instance, police have cordoned six people accused of stealing text books belonging to the Tanzania Institute of education (TIE).
The incident, according to Mr Muliro, is suspected to have taken place around Mabibo External in the country’s commercial capital.
“The six suspects were arrested around TIE storage premises with the text books which they had already parked in sackcloth bags loaded in two different vehicles for transporting them to unknown places,” he said.
The investigation is on course, when completed they will also be brought before the court of law to answer charges, the ZPC assured.
Dar es Salaam boss thanked kind hearted Tanzanians who are helping in uncovering criminal acts, where commander Muliro said any tip on criminality will be taken with the weight it deserves.
