Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) has announced that the ongoing heavy rainfall has highly affected its infrastructures, causing power outages in some areas.
In its statement released Saturday by the communication and public relations office in Dodoma, Tanesco has requested its customers to be patient as technicians currently working hard in affected areas to restore the service.
Tanzania Meteorological Authority TMA on Friday issued a weather notice predicting that rain would continue in several areas, particularly around the coast, including Dar es Salaam.
The TMA Weather Analyst, Joyce Makwata predicted that heavy rains would continue in the coastal and southern parts of the country from today until January 25, 2022.

There is more on the story than the rain, I think root cause of the issue is that there is no preventive maintenance because if there is we can look at the infrastructure on a routine basis to pin point what can go wrong and take the necessary steps.
