President Samia Suluhu has sent a message of condolence to the Vice President, Philip Mpango following the death of his brother and retired Anglican Church Bishop, Gerald Mpango.

 The cleric passed away in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday. 

He is survived by his wife Margaret Mpango, two daughters and a son.

Using her verified Twitter handle @SuluhuSamia, the Head of State tweeted: “I have been saddened by the death of the Retired Bishop of the Anglican Church, Gerald Mpango who is the brother of the Honourable, Vice President, Dr. Philip Mpango…“My heartfelt condolences to the church, relatives and close friends.  I pray for your steadfast heart in this difficult time. May God rest his soul in peace.”

Meanwhile, President Samia extended a message of condolence to the Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Martin Shigela following the death of his wife, Magdalena Ladya.
