NBAA board tasked to work professionally

THE government has tasked the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) Board of Directors to abide by laws, regulations and various guidelines when executing its duties for the greater interests of the nation.

The call was made by the Deputy Minister for Finance and Planning, Mr Hamad Hassan Chande at an event to launch the NBAA Board of Directors held in Dar es Salaam.

“The main function of this board is to set policies and strategies that will guide and advise the management in the execution of its responsibilities by ob- serving government policies in providing services to the people.

“It is the government’s expectations that you will work diligently and professionally for the greater interest of our nation,” he said

He also tasked board members to use the working tools given to them, including various documents that show the responsibilities of the board and how the institutions work so that they can execute their duties smoothly.

“I have listened to NBAA executives; I have learned a little bit about the responsibilities of the institution,” he said.

Mr Chande pledged to visit all institutions under his ministry, including NBAA as a familiarisation tour, since he is new to the post.

Mr Chande also called upon the board to collaborate with NBAA for the future of accountants and auditors who are crucial in managing financial resources.

For his part, NBAA Board Chairperson, Professor Sylivia Temu, pledged to work hard by collaborating with NBAA in supervising accountants and auditors in the country.

Prof Temu also expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for appointing her as the board chair, pledging to execute their duties by observing guidelines set by the government, in order to attain the intended objectives.

NBAA Executive Director, CPA Pius Maneno, expressed gratitude to the deputy minister for inaugurating their board of directors. CPA Maneno pledged to collaborate with Mr Chande in order to execute their duties effectively.
