Mbeya City’s onslaught turns ‘rivals terror’

They both have 14 points from eight fixtures but goal difference has favoured Mbeya City.

They are now three points behind the second- placed Simba.

The Green City charges have maintained their unbeaten status of the season as they dine on the same table with Young Africans and Simba for not losing any league match so far in the contest.

Speaking after the sweet victory, Mbeya City coach Mathias Lulle said the secret to his side's good form is that they keep on improving on the weakness displayed in their previous game.

"I cannot say we are completely better, we have our own shortfalls but we always work hard to improve on the weaknesses we produce in our past match something which keep us moving.

"I believe that if we work like this plus God intervention, we will be producing better results since our strongest weapon is to work as a team and not on solo basis," he said.

His player Paul Nonga, who scored the second goal on the day, revealed that their game plan was to win the match regardless the fact that Dodoma Jiji are among the tough teams in the marathon.

"The coach told us how to play even though we experienced heavy downfall as the encounter unfolded. We are just grateful to win the match and looking forward to our next battle," said the former Lipuli player.

For Dodoma Jiji, it was just a bad day at work as they misused several scoring chances which could have definitely changed the scoreboard if properly utilised.
